Yesterday Mom & I and Seth & Lacey and family went to the Vandal football game where Mom was honored as a distinguished teacher from McDonald School. At the first "time out" she went out to the 20 yard line with Mario Reyes (down the street three houses) to received the award. Her picture and name was also shown up on the Jumbo-tron as they said some nice things about her dedication to teaching. This picture shows the latest iteration of the Vandal name.
There were the usual crazies there.
They have done a lot of improvements to the dome in the last few years. I had not been there for a long time to a football game so it was nice to go. They also honored those serving in the military. The Vandals played a good game but in the end came up just a little short.
The band did some fun maneuvers. The tubas did their usual antics including wearing long black and gold kilts. Here they are laying down end to end and playing a song.

The new million dollar plus scoreboard where they showed Mom's picture and name as they presented the award. I was too busy trying to get her picture and missed it on the scoreboard.
This is the award. We're not sure if it is for her to keep or the school. There was also a $250 award for the school.
Seth is here for the weekend. He is headed back in a few minutes. His family was glad to see him. They went to the Latch County Fair. Mom and I stayed home for the first time in a long time. Just getting old and tired I guess. I have to go to meetings in Boise this week and then come home and on Friday drive back to Horseshoe Bend to board the train for a ride up the Payette River (we bought the tickets during the PBS pledge week). We are staying the night in McCall - maybe even breakfast at that little waffle place we have always wanted to visit.
