the scoop...

So, we're still here in Seattle. Seth finished his internship last week and now he/we are finishing his project today. We're going to go see the Blue Angels do their fly over tomorrow. Seth is playing in another all day softball tournament on Saturday. The other intern he worked with at UW is from Othello (his grandparents were good friends with Grandma and Grandpa) and they are big into softball. This weekend is the State Tournament for their division. They are short a player so they asked Seth to fill in. Apparently, it's a big deal.
I found out yesterday that I was accepted to the U of I. Yep, I'm going back to school. If you would have asked me what I was planning on doing this next semester a month or so ago, going back to school would not have been in the picture. However, through a series of events, Seth and I have developed a plan for the future...our goal is to eventually team together and work with athletes/individuals. Seth will do the physical training part and I will do the nutrition part. My goal is to either become a nutritionist or registered dietician. I need to talk to an advisor first to see what the best option is.
One of the events leading to this decision was when one of Teeny's friends asked Seth to design a workout program for her to help her lose weight. I happened to enter the conversation and started talking to her about a vinyl project I am working on with a friend that helps to track daily nutrition. As we chatted, I emphasized the fact that losing weight isn't just about exercising, but about proper nutrition as well. So, Seth and I started talking, I looked up the requirements to become a dietician, applied to the U of I. And now I am waiting to hear from an advisor to see if I can take Anatomy this semester. Because I already have a degree, I will only have to take 32 upper division credits. I'm pretty sure I'll have to take Anatomy and Physiology (a little intimidating, but kind of exciting...) and then I can start taking the nutrition courses. This coming semester I'll start small and take one or two classes. My goal is to be able to take more classes during the summers and hopefully finish when Seth finishes his Masters. That's the goal.
I also decided that my plate is going to be pretty full and that I should document the craziness of raising three kids and taking Anatomy. So, I started my own reality blog (I just made that term up...) I haven't posted too much on it, but I hope to post a little tidbit each day about life and what I am learning in the program. Like I said, it's going to be crazy, but I know it's the right thing to start right now.
Seth is going to do some side jobs this next week and then we'll head back to Moscow around the 15th. We'll start school on the 23rd.
Hope everyone is doing well!!!
