Need I say more

Santa was nice enough to drop a Wii on our doorstep this year and we have thoroughly enjoyed it thus far. The boys are getting really good at baseball, and the girls just like making the Mii's. Kevin and I had a date last night playing. We got the old school Pac-Man game loaded with several others. One of which is like Whack-a-mole but it's with Alligators. Hilarious. Here we are swinging the remotes up and down to hit these silly gators all the while our arms are BURNING. Pretty whimpy, maybe that could be my workout for the new year.

Today we switched to 9AM church. I think I like it better. The kids are normally up anyway so why not just get up and go. Kevin left for meetings at 6:15 this morning (poor guy!) So he's been sleeping in the recliner for the past three hours while I read my lesson for next week, made New Year's Resolutions, and sorted through pictures trying to find which to print next. Hmmm, maybe having some quiet time is all I need to get things done!

I enjoyed my trip to AZ for my scrapbooking/sisters retreat (I can no longer say weekend because it was much longer than a weekend). Kevin survived with the kids and I was pleasantly surprised by how much they did each day! He made it seem like a piece of cake. It was a much needed vacation on my part, all we did was eat, sleep, shop and scrapbook. Does life get any better than that?

Back to Real Life

This is the present I made for Leslie this year. I had no idea what to make, so I turned to Google and typed in "what should I make for my wife for christmas?" A couple of links later, I came up with glass etching. I use the term "I" very loosely as Kevin, Lisa and Lacey's vinyl scraps had a major part. Thanks for all the help.

Friday I had to ask Leslie for the time and day of the week. This means it is officially time to get back into the normal routine of life. We spent Saturday deep cleaning and de-junking the kids' rooms. It was a lot of work, but sure felt good when we finished.

In the spirit of Travis's lists-

Movies-- Christmas Carol- too dark, Avatar in 3D- cool, Chipmunks Squeakquel-...
Plays-- Singing in the Rain- real rain, very cool
Hotels-- Springhill Suites- nice but not as cool as the one in SLC
Board Games-- Clue FX, always fun- Snorta, lots of fun thanks Matt and Kimbre
Wii-- what can I say, it is a lot of fun and Grandpa and Grandma Von4L even got in the action

Brant
We made it back from New York a few days ago and we've gotten settled back into our house here. We did a bunch of laundry, took down the Christmas tree and decorations and slept in today because we now have 1:00 church.

This week Kelly goes back to work and I will officially start school on Wednesday. I'm going down to the school tomorrow to get my student ID, buy some books and check on last minute classes. I think I've told most people, but in case you don't know or forgot, I will be getting a Bachelor's degree from UVU in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations. I was able to transfer over a lot of my classes from BYU, so I should only have to do two semesters worth of classes and one internship.

That's about it for the week. Maybe we'll take a trip up in the hills for some snow shoeing if we get a chance.

Not Much New

We enjoyed our New Years vacation. Didn't do much. Just ate too much and layed around the house. Mom did some shopping, taking advantage of after Christmas sales.
Seth and Lacey were here most of the holiday. Lacey is on "almost" bed rest so she was here and Mom watched the boys. Seth was at the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise. Wow, what a game. I'll let him tell about his experiences. GO VANDALS!!!!
Work starts again tomorrow. I'm rather looking forward to it. Vacation is nice but it throws my mental state off and I need to get back to an organized routine.
Steve Smith's Memorial is January 24th in Wenatchee. Mom and I will drive over. We may go on Saturday and stay over night. We'll see what the weather is like. Might even make it up to Leavenworth again.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Love, Dad and Mom
