Twenty Two Years Ago

It's been a few years
Is this the same rock?
Same beautiful shopping district
This was one of my favorite places
I just had a nice visit with Travis on the phone and he related their escapades this last weekend. We were talking about their trip and compared it to our vacation back in 1986. Take a look at the pictures and see how they compare. I guess 22 years is nothing if you've been standing there for 800 to 1000 already.
This was one of my favorite trips. I'd love to go back again. Some of the places Travis and Kelly went are where we would like to go.

Green Table

As some of you may have guessed, this past weekend we took a little trip to Mesa Verde National park and the surrounding area. Here's a nice picture of the Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde. It was closed because it was too early in the year, but we got a picture from the road.
Kelly enjoying the ruins at Hovenweep. The pile of rubble at the bottom of the ravine is the leftovers of the old buildings that have crumbled over the last 800 years. The Spruce Tree House in Mesa Verde
Four Corners - Just as impressive as I had always remembered.
Here's a little summary of our trip:

3 ft. tall jack rabbits killed - 1 (by Kelly and our new car)
States visited - 4
Indian Ruins climbed on - 1
$75 fines avoided for climbing on said ruins - 1
Very cool towns named Telluride visited - 1
Anasazi Indian ruin parks visited - 2
Anti-war rallies scoffed at - 1
Bowls of Sherpa Stew w/ goat meat eaten - 1
Navajo Fry Bread eaten - 1
Electric Blankets purchased - 1

More Easter

We died eggs on Friday, and the kids ate the eggs almost as fast as they dried. It was fun!

What a nice Easter Sunday. All church meetings were cancelled, so Erik was home. It has been a really long time since Erik was home on a sunday morning. He usualy leaves before the kids wake up. The kids found their baskets, had breakfast and then we had an Easter morning devotional.

Hungry and needing a nap made it a little more difficult to smile! What a great face.

The boys were done bythe time we got home from church at 4:30.
