Have you ever come home and had a group of people in your front yard kind of looking at the house and pointing and looking like they're making plans for your future? That's what happened to us tonight. Our house has been for sale for a while and we've heard it was under contract and going to close soon but nothing really definite until last week. It turns out the people in the front yard were the owners-to-be and they brought the parents along to see the new purchase. We let them in to look around and had a good chat. They apologized for making us leave and told us not to hurry. We said we were looking for a new place and would be out by the end of the month. That seemed to be ok with them. So now we're in the hunt for a new house. Anyone have any good ideas?

Kelly is back working at UVU and has some good classes this semester. She is also taking advantage of her perks as a full-time employee and taking a German 101 class for free. For some strange reason she likes having homework again.

My 6-month position at work is now in its 9th month and they still keep giving me paychecks so I keep going. The fiscal year ends in September along with the money for my job. They are supposed to let me know soon if there is money in the new budget for my position. In a strange twist of luck/fate/destiny I could become homeless and unemployed on the same day. A proposition that doesn't excite Kelly at all. I'm currently looking for new jobs so we'll see what I find.

Other than that nothing too exciting here in Provo. We cooled down about 20 degrees this week and there are trees changing color high up on Y mountain.

B-E-A-R-S Go Bears!!!

This last week, Aimee attended a junior cheerleading camp for two evenings. On Saturday, she got to perform at the halftime of the Varsity football game with all the high school cheerleaders. Talk about being in Heaven!!! She was one happy little girl. She did a great job with her cheer and then they did a little dance routine. Of course she made all kinds of friends and just wanted to visit with all the girls. I am in soooo much trouble with this one. Social butterfly does not even begin to cut it! I'm glad she had fun.

We, or should I say the boys finished the roof in one a half days. Not bad considering how hot itwas. And no one was injured in the process, other than a sunburn and some blisters, perhaps. The roof looks great and we are now fighting the city to come look at it. The claim they don't have a ladder tall enough to get on my roof, and OSHA this and OSHA that. Blah blah...tomorrow I will be calling the supervisor. Great fun.










Yesterday the HOA sponsered a party at the park, sort of a get to know your neighbor kind of a day. Lucky for us it was right behind the house. We ate pizza, snow cones, talked to the firemen, jumped in the bounce house, participated in a raffle where pretty much everyone won some peice of dollar store junk. But hey, the kids had a blast. Here are few shots playing croquet, or just whacking the ball around. We had a great, productive weekend. Nothing new on the house. We're still waiting to hear on the other one we put an offer on. Once we know about that, then I'll worry about my house. For now, I'm preparing for the Sacrament Meeting Program and Kevin is preparing for Standards night. We have plenty to keep busy.

Mom and I had a great camping trip except for the above two signs posted all over Laird Park. Mom made a quick trip back to Potlatch for more water and I set up the tent. We did just fine and didn't see any bears. The weather was fantastic and we enjoyed the time away from daily responsibilities.
I plan to drive to Matt and Kimbre's Tuesday evening and sleep on their couch until Uncle Eugene calls from his AMTRAK train as he passes through Coeur d'Alene on his way to Spokane. I will then pick him up and take him to visit with grandpa for about 10 days.
This weekend is the Latah County Fair. That means chicken fajitas and cotton candy. Friday night Seth, Weston, and I will be camping out in the back yard.
I am still priming the house. I hope to be painting the final colors by the end of the week. The whole neighborhood is rooting for me. It should raise the value of the homes on the block.
