Happy Birthday Jamie!
We're not sure if you'll read this in time for your birthday...but we thought we'd send you some birthday wishes anyway. Hope it was a good one!

A Little News
Well, it's official. I am out of the training program and out on my own. If/when we get a digital camera I'll post some pics of my car and me looking tough in uniform. My first night was pretty quiet. I just answered calls (barking dogs, domestics, 911 hang-ups, etc.) and only had time to stop a few cars. It's a little weird not to have someone over on the passenger seat to rely on or turn to for the answers. It was a year ago March when I started work as a marine deputy.
Kimbre is scheduled to take her state exam to cut hair next Monday in Boise. We'll be taking a quick trip on my days off, Sun-Mon-Tue. She has an offer to work a chair part time in the store she is currently working at now, and is excited to put her skills to use and get out from behind the cash register.
I had to speak in the Wallace Branch on Sunday when our ward's high council man asked me to come along. Remember Dante's Peak?? I got off work at 4:30am, printed off some talks at work, grabbed some tacos in the Del-Taco drive thru, came home for a shower and shave, then fell asleep on the couch from 6:00 to 8:00am. At 8:00 I got up, got dressed and met my ride in the church parking lot, still without a written talk. I wrote my talk in the car on the 45 min drive out there and come game time I rattled off a 20 min. talk on dealing with adversity and trials. I was a little tired and sort of dozed through most of Sunday school. No snoring or violent jerks though.
Thanks for the birthday phone calls. We're down in Moscow now for a night on the town and some cake/ice cream.
