I left Monday afternoon and drove to Matt and Kimbre's place to stay the night. Tuesday morning I drove to Sandpoint where I met a couple of people and we took off to tour the new buildings I will inherit from the Post Falls FM Group. We drove to Clark Fork, then up a beautiful valley to Troy, Montana. From there we drove to Libby, Montana, then to Bonners Ferry, down to Sandpoint for lunch, then to Priest River, Westmond, and finally back to Post Falls. Wednesday morning we drove to Wallace, then Kellogg, and then all around the Post Falls and Coeur D'Alene area. I saw some beautiful country and some very nice church buildings. It will be nice to work with them even if they are miles from Moscow.
Some sad news. Thursday night we heard that Tara (Johnson) Leaf was in critical condition in a Spokane hospital. Then today we learned that she passed away (I think she is one year older then Matt). We drove over to Johnson's and visited with Dave. He was standing in his driveway talking on the phone when we drove up. It seems that her mother was with her helping with the kids when Tara said she didn't feel good. She laid down on the couch and went to sleep. Sister Johnson noticed that her lips were blue and tried to wake her but couldn't. She called Dave who came immediately but he said he know she was dead when he got there. They rushed her to Gritman where they got a hear beat and life lighted her to Spokane. They kept her on life support until this morning. She wanted her organs donated so I assume that is why they kept her on the machines this long. Dave said they have no idea what happened, she just laid down and died. She leaves behind five children ages 12 to 6 months and her husband George. We don't know how much more the Johnson family can take. The funeral is on Friday at our building. I was supposed to be in Post Falls attending Lloyd Loutzenhouser's retirement party but I will probably stay here for the funeral.
