Freezer Jam Anyone?

We went and picked raspberries on Thursday at Remlinger Farm in Carnation, about 30 minutes away. Our intention was to pick strawberries, but when we got to the first farm that we had received rave reviews about, especially concerning their strawberries, we were told that they don't have strawberries and haven't had them for years. So, we took the back roads from Redmond to Carnation and found Remlinger Farm but their strawberries were pretty much gone. Their raspberries had just started to come on, so we picked about six pounds each for only a $1.00/pound. I found a freezer jam recipe online and made almost ten batches. The picture above is only half of the jam I made, the rest is already in the freezer. I filled about 50 8oz-9oz containers. It was actually kind of fun. I used the potato masher just like Grandma Zirker.

Bridal Veil Falls

Yesterday I got off work a little bit early and was a little bored sitting at home by myself so I decided to go out to the Provo River for a swim. It's been about 98 degrees here all week. I couldn't find a good place for a dip so I stopped off at Bridal Veil Falls and decided to go for a little hike. Before I knew it I was up at the old restaurant that is perched on the cliff above the falls. The hike wasn't too bad and it only took me about an hour to get there. There are even some well placed ropes/cables/black sprinkler polypipes that help you get over some of the treacherous parts. Never mind that you can't see what they're tied to when you start climbing them. The building is surprisingly well intact. All the windows and breakable stuffs are gone but the rest of it is pretty solid and probably still usable if someone wanted to fix it up. I'll post some pics later if I can figure out how to get them from my phone to the computer.
