Finally! Some snow!

We've been waiting patiently and today we finally got some snow. It wasn't very much (the grass isn't even covered), but there is some white stuff on the ground.

Tonight was Kelly's annual Christmas Choir performance. She donned her bright red vest and a green skirt that would fit two sumo wrestlers at the same time. She did a wonderful job singing Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols. After the concert we drove around the rich people's neighborhoods and gawked at their lights and enjoyed the snow.

This is Kelly's last full week of teaching classes before Christmas break. She's excited to be done especially since she's had some of her most rotten students ever this semester.

Kelly is currently sitting on the couch and contemplating making fish mousse for dinner tomorrow. Any takers?

Disney on Ice (Our version)

We wanted to surprise the kids with this gift but also have them realize that this was a Christmas Gift. So I picked up a little Disney notebook and pen for each of them, wrapped them up and stuck it under the tree. The kids were ecstatic to know they got to open a present before Christmas. When they opened the gifts Saturday morning we just said it was a clue to what the present was. Periodically throughout the morning we kept giving them hints to where we were going. They didn't figure it out until we were pulling into the Pepsi Center parking lot. It was fun.

New Fence

Several months ago Grandpa called and wanted me to fix his fence. It had come apart on the west side between his and Neff''s yard. I looked at it and suggested it might be time to just get a new fence. I suggested white vinyl and he seemed to like the idea. I drew up plans and dropped them by Carpenter Fence in Lewiston for a quote. Grandpa OK'd the price and I lined them up to do the fence. They were supposed to do it when Uncle Eugene was out last month but didn't get around to it. I stopped in last week and he said they were just going to call me (right). Anyway they set the posts on Tuesday and finished it on Thursday. We all think it turned out great.

Mom is going to publish the "Secret Santa" names later today so stay tuned.

The weather had gone nuts. Wind and sub-freezing if not sub-zero temperatures. There is no snow and it sure is cold. The next few nights are supposed to be around 4 degrees.

Enjoy the week and have fun getting ready to Christmas. This week we had the Ward Christmas party on Wednesday, my staff Christmas party on Thursday, Mom's staff Christmas party on Friday, and Lacey did the McDonald School Craft Show on Saturday.

At my party, one of my custodians plays in a country western/blue grass band so he asked if they could play for your party (for free). The lead singer/guitarist has spent about 4 years in Nashville playing, trying to break into the big time. He is accompanied by his wife on the bass guitar and Pat (our custodian) on the guitar/banjo/mandolin. They were fantastic. They played for about 45 minutes and we finally had to stop for dinner.
