Spot the differences

Great Weekend

We left Moscow after work on Friday and arrived in Leavenworth about 9:00 pm. We stayed in the same motel we did two years ago with Travis and Kelly. We were glad to get away for the weekend. Mom has had a lot to do at school and was kind of burned out. We have lots of fond memories of visiting here when we first got married and with various families members when they came to visit.

This is looking out our sliding glass door. We had a poolside room on the first floor. The glass windows at the top are the breakfast room where they make your omelets to order. They are fantastic. Then the little guy gets up on the wall and plays his alp horn. Actually, he owns the motel.
These goats are across the street and graze on the hillside above the golf course. Travis and Kelly, they said to say "Hello".

We drove up to Lake Wenatchee and stopped at the stake park to walk the beach. It was a little rainy in the morning the view was fantastic.

On the way we passed this Civil War re-enactment group in the little town of Plain, Washington. It was early in the morning and they were just getting up or we would have stayed and watched the battle.

While we were there they have a parade down the main street with this wagon full of beer. You can follow it to the bear garden and watch them "Tap the Keg". We passed and kept strolling.

Here is the golf course owned by the motel. We played 18 holes and choose not to reveal our scores. It is really a lot of fun. It was a fun weekend. We shopped (bought another wall hanging for the front of the house from the same guy be bought the one on the deck). I will hang it tomorrow. We ate good food, bought more stuff, and listened to music at the gazebo. That is my favorite part. I have a really good video on the camera of one song but can't seem to get it on the blog. I'll try to load is separately. Saturday morning we drove up to the Lake Wenatchee state park, it was a beautiful drive and we saw lots of fun stuff. We came back and ate, golfed, listened to more music, napped, ate some more, and ended the day listening to a pianist in the lobby for an hour. They have several local pianist play each night for 1 1/2 hours. That night it was a retired forest service employee. He was very good and could play anything you asked. This morning we got up, had another custom made omelet, listened to the alp horn, checked out and then sat in the lobby in big overstuffed chairs and read. About 10:30 am we left and headed home. We drove by our old apartment in Quincy, headed east and drove by my old sugar beet piling ground and then headed south to Frenchman Hills and came across O'Sullivan Dam. We went through Warden and then on home.

Tuesday Uncle John and Aunt Madalyn will be here to tick up the boat. We have it all cleaned and ready. Thursday we bought a set of magnetic lights with 25 feet of harness so we can just plug it in to their vehicle and not worry about trying to make all the old wiring work. We'll, it's back to work tomorrow. We thoroughly enjoyed the break.
