We made the hike in and found it to be much easier without the snow and lack of sunlight. We had the lake mostly to ourselves. Our only company this time was a group of three long haired hippies who weren't very social. This was also our first overnight trip with the dog. Squeezing the two of us and the dog into a small backpacking tent got a little cozy, but we managed.
This waterfall is from the hike in. This little creek is what drains the lake. We missed this last year due to the late season and no run off.

We slept warm (I did at least), had fun doing crosswords, and let the dog run. A friend of mine from work hiked in the next morning and he and I tried our best catch a respectable fish. I caught four, with the biggest being a whopping six inches long. We had a great time and Kimbre is even excited about other backpacking trips.
