Teeny was here this week and she loved WINCO. So much so, that she took Seth shopping one night while I cleaned the carpets (she brought her carpet cleaner and now I have fabulous carpets, the joys of apartment life...) While at WINCO she purchased a bag of this...

I had a vinyl party yesterday and we made these...

We also made some other crafts but I don't have cute pictures of them yet. My friend Katelyn asked if she could play around with some of my products because she recently got a new camera. I would love to play around with a camera, but I just don't have the time. So, I've turned picture taking over to her. She has done some fabulous pictures and I'm excited to see what she'll come up with next.

Tommy came over for the Oregon vs. WSU game yesterday and left today. Sorry Kevin, but Timmy and Ned couldn't come with Tommy. And Teeny had just been here for a week so it wouldn't have made sense for her, Teeny, to accompany Tommy on his journey. Peace out.

This week was Pack Meeting. Tyler earned his Wolf, a gold arrow point and two silvers. Bring back good memories yet??? He comes home with fun little crafts from Den meetings and it reminds me of plaster bear neckerchief slides with mom and Indian drums with Sister Weyand (sp?). Thanks to Grandma, he (and his troop) won the uniform inspection.

Yesterday, I ripped out 5 big, old juniper bushes for a lady. It took 3 loads in the old mowing trailer. She stills works very well, but I think the old leaf springs are getting a little tired. (It couldn't be from all the years of hauling huge piles of wet, STINKY grass.) I then rented a mini-excavator and in 20 minutes had all 5 stumps out. Work smarter, not harder.

Tonight we had a really good stake fireside on marriage. Elia Gourgouris spoke to us. Your marriage needs more deposits that withdrawals. They also need to be deposits into the correct account. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot.

Some fall color

Yesterday, after several weeks of thinking about it, we finally took the time and hiked around Y mountain. My friend B-rad and his wife Caroline came with us and we headed up the trail to the Y, around the mountain to the right and then down into Rock Canyon.The fall colors were great and so were the views. Not too long after we started down the backside of the mountain, Kelly stepped on a hidden rock in the trail and after a very graceful twirl, ended up sitting on the ground with a twisted ankle. It didn't get much better as we continued down, so I cut her a walking stick and she hobbled the last two hours home. It still hurts today and with the help of Google she has diagnosed herself with a Type II ankle sprain. The most disappointing thing to her is that there is absolutely no swelling or bruising, just pain. So now she just limps or uses crutches, but doesn't have anything to show for it.
Not too much else going on here. We're moving downstairs on Tuesday and Wednesday after work and then Thursday night we're heading to Denver for the weekend. Kelly's grandpa had a small stroke a few weeks ago and her dad will be in town, so we thought it would be a fun time to head out for a visit.

Finally, some color

I didn't quite get around the garage. I hope to finish the front tomorrow. This picture shows all three colors - fascia, gable ends, and body.

Day by day I draw closer to the completion of this project. I think we started in June and here it is almost October. Yesterday was a long day and last night I didn't have one muscle that didn't ache but we finally got some color on the front of the house. This is the first time that I am totally satisfied with the final color. As you are aware we saw a house like this down town and copies their colors exactly.

We got our rebate for the new windows and plan to use it to buy a new front door. The old green one looks gross but will have to do until I get the rest of the house painted. This project never stops.

Tonight is stake priesthood meeting so I have to leave in a few minutes.

There was a sock hop at the school on Friday, so I made poodle skirts for the three girls and of course the boys donned their white t's and jeans (but all three refused to roll the legs, how lame!) OH well. It was a good time. The DJ was family oriented and we had a good time. Now, I'm already done with the girls Halloween costumes. Wahoo.Yesterday was marathon day. We had a primary activity in the morning, which I was in charge of. It was a celebration party for successfully completing the Sac mtg program. It was so much fun, and I even learned how to make balloon animals. I hire out for birthday parties. Then we rushed off to a birthday party. Came home, had enough time to clean the house, make dinner, and then hurry to the RS broadcast with friends and out to eat after. It was a busy but very fun day. Now I'm exhausted. As soon as Kevin gets home from Standards night I'm going to bed.
