A busy weekend

Friday we went to the carnival at Russell School.  It was fun and Lacey's boys came with us, while they held their garage sale.  We had a fun time throwing pennies in the fish tank, spinning the wheel, and eating mini ice cream cups.
We celebrated Adria's birthday today since Kevin was in town.  She was so sweet to let her cousins help her open presents.

Jello poke cake, can life get any better?

The new doll outfit she received, it inspired Lacey to get out her real American Girl doll, which Ivan loved.

Saturday, after house hunting, we went to Matt and Kimbre's and then we went to Indepence Rock (or Point, I can't remember what it was called).  The kids ran and played for a few hours.  It was much needed.

Matt and Riley

There is a story about a mouse and moose.  They have statues around the park, the kids found this big one and climbed up on to it.  Raya did not have a very good day, can you tell?

Look what we started...

This is what started it all...a leaky toilet.  Since it was going to be off, we might as well paint (sounds logical to me)!  So Kent and I schemed and decided he would buy the paint for Mother's Day and I (Lisa) would provide the labor to get it done.

Martha picked a "lemony" yellow.  You can see the difference in the colors.  It is very bright and cheery now.

Then of course, the washer and dryer could not be left undone, so they decided to start having fits and making weird noises so they got replaced also.
We've been out house shopping for 2 weekends now, with prospects but no offers.  Just trying to figure out the give and take and what do we really want.  The kids are tired of looking at houses and begged to not go out this weekend!  But we're ready to be a normal family again, living in the same house all the time.  We are definitely enjoying living with Kent and Martha though.  They are a good sports to tolerate us this long already!

Fathers and Sons Campout

This weekend was our Fathers and Sons Campout.  We camped on an island (technically a pennisula) on a private lake near Brighton- ten minutes from my house.  It was fun to get out and camp.  The weather was beautiful!  The highlight of the camp was a couple of slings I whipped together with scraps I had in the car.  Once Ty taught the boys how to use them, they spent hours flinging rocks into the lake.  Ty's arm was pretty sore the next day.
Here is our Friday night fireside.
It's too easy to just put out the fire with a bucket of water.  Instead- the boys had fun creating a waterfall that ended in the fire.  Ty is holding the flashlight in the center of the picture.
