Is it December yet?

Brant and Erik, are you busy? Seth and Lacey, are you busy? Travis and Kelly, how do you get a patron for a west-coast tour? Matt and Kimbre, what is "cosmotology."

Sorry, I'm not in much of a mood to write. Kanyon had a good birthday. Lisa had a piano recital yesterday. Nine of her students played. Lisa also invited four other kids from our ward to play. Their mom teaches them independently. The recital went well and was well attended.

Each week we try to do family/individual goals. Braxton's goal this week is to start piano lessons. Lisa's goal is to teach him and my goal is to practice with him. Kanyon's goal is to do horse puzzles with dad, the ones that grammy gave him for his birthday. Raya's goal is to start walking.

Phase Three

We had a nice ward social Saturday morning of eggs, hash browns and sausage and a couple of pinatas. There was a good turn out and we all had fun. Afterwards I went out to Crossroads Nursery and got a yard of top soil. He dumped it in the Ranger and it sunk lower and lower. It sunk so low that the mud flaps drug on the pavement all the way home and now I need to buy new ones because it wore the bottom edge off. I shoveled the dirt into where the stump had been and it came out just right. Then I bought a bag of Kentucky Blue Grass and seeded it and then added a bag of peat moss. Hopefully it a couple of weeks we'll have some new grass. This next weekend we will buy the tree and plant it.
It has been a rather slow week on the blog. We hope Travis and Kelly are home from Southern California. Travis, did you get a wedding announcement from Dave Bishop (your comp in the MTC)? Let us know how your trip went and where you visited.
Not much action in Idaho this week. The weather is great and everyone is out in their yards. This weekend the Farmer's Market opened - can you say giant cinnamon rolls. It was also Renaissance Fair at East city Park - which means that it was Brant and Erik's birthdays. We talked to both of them on the phone. They sounded about one year older.
Seth, Lacey and Weston are here now so life is a little more exciting. I think Seth has a couple more finals and they will leave for Seattle in about 10 days.

Happy Birthday to Me

Happy Birthday to me, I turned 33. (Nice rhyme, eh?) I spent the day doing side work and helping the primary plant flowers at the church. We had a party that evening and then went to a friend's graduation party that night. Good times, good times.

Work is screaming along in full gear. I go in early to get materials ready for the guys, work with the guys during the day, and then fire up waterfalls on the way home. My saving grace this week was that we received several inches of snow at the job site on Friday, so the day got cut a little shorter. They are getting more snow in Evergreen tonight so we'll see how tomorrow shakes out.
