The first picture is of our living room, after Lisa disposed of half its contents and then cleaned it. We moved our computer and TV up to our bedroom, and the love seat is in storage. She did a great job.
This next picture shows the kitchen, after cleaning. I included it as a reference for the next picture. Note the short ceiling section above the microwave, in the upper left corner of the picture. No hole.
Now, note the hole. The water was first draining down the wall at the left. I first cut it there. As I did so I asked Lisa to fill up the tub. That was when the water started to run. I then began to chase the leak to the right. It was like trying to find a leaking sprinkler pipe and digging up half the yard. Where the water exits is never where it originates.
Anyway, the water was leaking from the base of our tub. This picture is taken up toward the bottom of the tub. The aluminum plate is nailed to the floor. In the center of it you can see a rusty connection between the tub drain and the ABS pipe. I went up stairs and started to poke around the drain inside the tub. We've had some rust there since we moved in. I poked to hard and broke out a dime-sized hole in the body of the tub. It's amazing what ramifications a small hole will lead to. We now need to either rip out the tub, tile, drywall, floor, etc. and install a new one. Or we need to get one of those inserts. In the meantime, I filled the hole with caulk.
