Us

So, we are alive and embracing our new world in Florida. This is our house. It's a two bedroom with a screened in lanai in the back that has a hide-a-bed. It felt a lot like Richard's cabin when we first got here. Most of the house has been updated but the lanai features wood paneling and a combination of retro style chairs and the hide-a-bed. Today's discovery includes a dead lizard under the bed which I have yet to confirm because I just don't want to think about it. 

The boys like to relax in the warmest room of the house while watching the smallest tv in the house. It's about the same size as Brant's Heath Kit tv, but it turns on/off a little easier.

Some days we have the car while Seth is at work and some days he leaves by 5am so he takes the car. This has resulted in some creative play with the limited amount of toys we have on-hand. We have purchased one Lego set and two matchbox cars for each kid.

This is the black sand beach in Venice an hour south of us. We went to find some shark teeth but as we were walking to the beach lightning started flashing and we only stayed a couple of minutes. The rain started dumping as we were getting in the car.

This is the beach ten minutes from our house. We try to go every afternoon that we have the car. The water was beautiful yesterday.

We try not to whine about the heat and humidity which has helped us to adjust. I actually get cold with the a/c and Seth is starting to tolerate it more. He even drove with the window down on our way home from church. I only do my hair and wear makeup on Sundays. It feels like you are stepping into a warm shower when you walk out the door, so there's no point to it. We only freak out about it all when we see someone wearing a north face fleece jacket while walking down the street. We have yet to figure that out...

We tried to find sand dollars at our beach but we needed to go earlier and in the water more. Some ladies offered to take our picture so here we are.

There's a row of these small shells on the shore that you have to walk across to get to the water. Brady likes to pick them up and put them in our bag.

 The boys heard that the lizard's tail will come off if you try to catch them by it. This is Koper's doing. He saw a lizard on the mailbox and reached for it. They were all amazed by how easily it came off. I was slightly traumatized.

Lizards are everywhere.

The entrance to Seth's new job. It was dumping buckets the first day we dropped him off. The first week of work was all about orientation and observing so it was a little different for him. The campers have arrived this week so now it's go time. He works with the Academy and camper kids but occasionally sees the professional athletes as they come in to work out. Basically if the professionals say hi to him he can say hi to them. This has happened once and he kept his cool, so he passed that test for now.
