Kelly, thanks for posting the Christmas pic. Mom and dad, maybe you could do a picture of the week. Like, Brant, nothing new is going on here. Lisa is just getting fatter by the day. Mom, thanks for offering to come down. I took Braxton to a baptism with me this afternoon. I also had all three kids at church, since the flu bug hit Lisa this morning. Some of Lisa's girl friends took her out last night for dinner. After that they got pedicures at Wal-Mart. It was Lisa's first and she loved it. The guy did a great job of painting flowers on her toe-nails (and he wasn't even gay).

Not Much Goin' On Here

Not much new around here. This was a picture Les took a couple of weeks ago when they went to the zoo. Kind of shows our Sunday, or as Leslie notes, the typical male.

This week was "Sick Fest 2007" at our house. Katie got sick with the stomach flu at the start of the week. We got her all better and then Friday night Aimee got sick. It hit me Saturday morning and then struck Tyler that afternoon. After a good night of sleep, we are all doing better. We now have to wash and sterilize the whole house.

Other than that, things here are good. Spring is in full force. The grass is turning dark green, and the bulbs are in full bloom.

The Sugar Beet Man (Quincy, Washington)

Kelly is doing something for her mother for Mother's Day and wanted some pictures of Travis as he was growing up (he's still not all the way there). It was a lot of fun to reminisce about past activities as Mom was digging out the pictures. That is one of them that Kelly posted on her Blog. I hadn't realized how much your kids all look like you when you were their age.

We got a new stake president this morning. I have been working for the past several weeks on a system to broadcast stake conference out into the Internet and then recapture it and show it in one of the other buildings. We tested the system Tuesday night and it worked great. This morning I had bishop's meeting with my ward and then went over to the town stake center and turned the camera on and then went to the Mountain View building and set things up. At 9:00am the stake computer specialist came and connected his laptop and found the broadcast and put it up on the screen. It looked pretty good. All was in order so I returned to my ward and finished the day. We found out after church that the new stake president is Steve Pennington. Most of you may not know him but he is an orthopedic surgeon and was a councilor in the student stake presidency. One if his councilors is a new person also in the 3rd ward and we don't know who the other councilor is yet. I don't know how Uncle Chuck feels about it but I would think it is kind of a relief after 9 years. I guess the video broadcast on the Internet went well although Grandpa said it was a little "scratchy" to listen to.

When Travis called the other day he mentioned setting up a new blog for the "cousins" (Langeveld, Backlund, Zirker, & Richards). I think that's a good idea. I have been a little reluctant to put our blog info out - not wanting it to get too corrupted by too many people.

Matt and Kimbre came down Monday and we took them and Seth and Lacey out to dinner for Matts birthday. I think Matt had been saving up his appetite for this occasion. They ended up staying the night and went home the next morning. I think they are in Boise this weekend so Kimbre and take her test to get Idaho to accept her cosmetology schooling and be licensed to work in Idaho. This will allow her to move from retail sails to actually working a "chair" in the shop where she has been working. They really like their new car and coming to Moscow or going to Boise is a lot nicer and cheaper.

I have been doing some yard cleaning and tree and shrub pruning the last couple of weeks and want to clean out under the fort. Here is a list of things I would like to get rid of and am wondering if any of you want to keep any of this:

• 4 lawn mowers - in various state of repair


• 3 small bikes


• 2 tricycles


• 1 wire basket (similar to a shopping cart)


• 3 wheel barrows


• 3 to 4 Tonka toys (trucks and graders)


• 1 bent Ranger axle (Travis ?)


• 1 bent Ranchero fender (Kevin ?)


• 1 walk behind fertilizer spreader


• various tires and wheels


• 1 wash tub
• (I almost forgot - 1 cat/wild animal trap)

If any of this stuff sounds like yours or that you would like, let me know. I'll probably start hauling it out next week.

Mom has been pretty intense with the computer developing her Power Point presentation for her class. The end of the semester is fast approaching.
