Cousin Jen + baby = cousin dinner

About a month ago I got an invite from Cousin Jen to come to her ward when they blessed her baby. I went for the blessing and then went back over to her house for dinner and fraternization. A bunch of the Zirker cousins showed up (Jen, Ryan, Clint, Garrett and families) and Manda and Mat were there as well. We got all caught up and talked about how we all live within 10 min of each other, but only see each other once every 6 months. In the end I made it out with a big plate of four-layer dessert.

School continues as usual and Kelly's work is plugging along. We're contemplating going to San Diego in a few weeks. Kelly's brother has been assigned to be a recruiter for the next few years for the Marines and he has been there training for a couple of months. He graduates from his training school at the end of February and he may even be at the top of his class, so we might go down for his graduation. It doesn't hurt that it's still winter here and it will hopefully be more warmer there.

Tis a Slow Day at Black Rock!

Your Grandma & Grandpa Backlund as never before seen in public!
Four Generations - Grandma Ada (by marriage), Carl, Martha, Brant.

Not much going on at the old ranch this week. It's warm, cold, sunny and rainy. Right now it is raining.
I spent a day in Walla Walla inspecting and training. Mom has one heck of a runny nose. We went shopping in Lewiston yesterday (I made it through the first two stores and then sat in the car for the last three).
That's about it. We love you all.
