Weston has been watching the Bee Movie this past week, hence the black and yellow.
Seth hosted a Golf Scramble for the Elder's Quorum on Thursday and a Breakfast for Dinner for the Relief Society on Friday night, with Mom's help it was a success. I was going to get some pictures from Dad to post from the dinner because it was awesome, but I forgot, so maybe he'll get some free time and post them later. Basically, the Relief Society President challenged Seth and the Elder's Quorum to a competition between home teaching and visiting teaching. The EQ lost and the Relief Society started getting antsy for their breakfast. Seth told them it was just going to be boxed cereal and nothing big. We (Seth did most of the planning I just helped him execute it...) went the opposite direction and actually used real plates and silverware. Mom provided flowers and the table toppers from our wedding. Add a little Michael Buble, dim the lights and it was a great night.
On Wednesday I got to visit with a girl who has her own vinyl lettering business and see how everything is done. I am so excited. If any of you need yard signs or street signs with your kid's name on it, I'll be able to do it for you in about a month. I am going to file for my business name/license tomorrow and then my seller's permit. In the meantime I'm putting together a blog for strawberrypearl studios. It's so exciting!!!

Where's the fire?

This week was free day at the Childrens' Museum. They had changed it a little since we were last there. They dismantled a fire engine and brought it in as part of a new display. The kids got to dress up as firefighters and climb all over the truck. The firefighter behind the kids is part of a game where you shoot at various targets with a fire hose.

General Conference was great! I missed the Solemn Assembly but we recorded it. If I watch it later and go through the sustainings, does that still count?? I enjoyed President Monson's talks. I think he is the first prophet to wiggle his ears during a talk. As Elder Holland said, you can see the mantle falling onto his shoulders.

Not much else for this week- except for the fact that we are having great weather! The sun is shining and the skies are blue. (Just thought I'd rub it in Dad.)

Just a little clarification: I told some of you that last week's picture of Mom was when she was in high school. Actually, it was between her junior and senior years in college.

It's till snowing up here. It snows almost every night and then melts by mid-morning the next day. Our weather report says it is supposed to get warmer by the end of the week (that's what they said last week).

We had a nice ward social Friday night. It was one of those Home Teaching vs. Visiting Teaching contests. Loser cooks dinner for the winner. As usual, the Relief Society won so the Elders Quorum cooked dinner Friday night. It was Breakfast for Dinner. Everything was nicely done and decorated with nice table settings, menu, and a chocolate dipped strawberry on each plate. The women visited while the men tended and fed the kids and then served their wives. The menu was: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, a dollop of something pink, milk and juice. The elders (Seth, Lacey and Mom) put in a lot of work and it looked great.

Grandpa had more cancer spots burned off his face and biopsies on two spots on his left ear. Before long he won't have any ear to cut off. He should get the results in a day or two and will probably have to go back to have it cut out. He seems to keep a pretty good attitude about the whole thing.

We are taking our computer in for a de-contamination this week. We bought an external hard drive yesterday and I backed up everything onto it today. It holds 500 GB and I have used 11 of them. Plenty of room for the future. Hope this helps speed things up again. It just keeps getting slower and slower.

I have a bid opening in Spokane on Wednesday. We are adding 4000 sq ft onto Colfax. It will complete their building and give them some much need room. We hope to start the new building in Pullman this year but it may not happen until 2009. We are moving ahead with permits and drawings but will have to see if the funding comes through or not. Right now it is just under the cutoff line. If someone's project stumbles they will move ours up if it is ready to go.
