Well, we did it. We took the plunge and bought our first new car!!! I thought I was an official grown-up when we bought our washer and dryer last summer, but we grew-up a little more tonight. For the last year or so we have been trying to decide what car to buy when the Rodeo dies. Well, the Rodeo is still alive but we've had to give it a little TLC lately which always makes me so nervous. When we first started looking at cars we were thinking about an Explorer or Ford Freestyle which is now the Taurus X. Both seat seven. Well due to the price of gas, we purchased a Focus. We can actually fit three car seats in the back, so when the fourth comes along, we'll grow up a little more and still have a grocery getter (that's the plan...)
We've been working with the Ford dealership here in Moscow for a couple of weeks now. They found a car for us in Ellensburg a couple weeks ago and sent a driver to bring it over. When they pulled into the lot in Moscow, they realized they brought a two door Focus instead of a four door Focus. In the mean time the four door car sold in Ellensburg. So they've been frantically trying to find a car for us, but Focus's are flying off the lots these days because they get 33 mpg! So tonight they drove our Focus in from somewhere in Montana. It is a 2008 bright red four door beauty. It may be small but we love it.
But here's the cool part. On our application I put down that I do vinyl lettering. The sales lady we were working with was interested in some decals for her car and the lady who owns the store wants me to do some vinyl for her. She needs vinyl for the loaner cars they have and then in July they are having a huge anniversary sale so they'll need vinyl for the all the cars! I am so excited, they just kept mentioning more things they will need vinyl for. So I think I'm on to something that could be kind of big. How exciting!!!
