It's not the smoothest website in the world but it's kind of an interesting look at some things a refugee goes through before they get here.
Disclaimer: You may want to skip the interrogation section if you have small children with you. It's not bad, maybe just better for grown ups.

Oregon Coast Family Reunion
Yesterday we returned from our first of two family reunions this summer. Kimbre flew out last Friday, and spent the 4th with her family in Portland. I had the pleasure of working and spent my 4th in and around Worley, ID.
Kimbre's grandma rented a beach house right on the shore and invited the whole crew from her father's side of the family. I arrived late Sunday night early Monday morning around 3am after my Sunday nap and a 9 hour drive.
We had a great time getting to know everyone again after meeting them in a reception line two years ago. Activities included long walks on the beach, kite flying, kite crashing, skipping rocks, not swimming in the freezing cold ocean, the Oregon Aquarium, a feast of Italian food (by real Italians), salt water taffy, and of course some shopping.
After the last few Meyers family get-togethers, Kimbre has taken over the role of photographer. Which means we have tons of great pics, but not so many with the two of us in them.
