Guess the book?

Can you guess which book this guy is talking about?

With a bit of patience and good humor, there's something for everyone in the book—the decapitation of a drunk merchant by his cousin in pursuit of an ancient copy of the Hebrew Bible; a tender recapitulation of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount; the immolation of a steel-nerved prophet by a Don Corleone-style king; and a conversion trance so deep that observers thought the convert had begun to decompose. In any case, this book is essential for the full comprehension of ????.

Did You Ever Wonder?

Did you ever wonder what the screw heads look like up close on one of these wind machines? I drove to Walla Walla on Friday so I took the new camera and tried it out. I was about 1/4 mile away and they stand about 150 feet tall. This new camera has a heck of a zoom lens.

My mission president, W. Brent Hardy, died this week. I had been getting e-mail updates for several years as his health deteriorated. He died of congestive heart failure. It has been interesting reading the comments on the mortuary web-site. Mom and I talked about going down to Las Vegas to the funeral but decided against it.

It snowed a skiff last night. The weather report says there is more on the way. I know we need it but it has been nice without it. Tomorrow is MLK Day. Not sure what we are going to do but I might drive out in the country looking for photo ops. It has been fun this morning, the ham radio net guys have been telling of their favorite car when they call in. It sounds like a bunch of old guys talking about the good ol days.

Have a good week.
