Yesterday we hit the train museum.

The theme of the day was action shots- running away, surprised faces and girls laying down in front of the trains.

20 Questions

On the way home from Kate Mortensen's baptism we played 20 questions. Here were Braxton's clues, see if you can guess what it is:
-It's made a wood, metal, plastic, and string
-If you owned it it would make you sad
-It's used to transport something
-It's not electrical
My guess was a microwave.
We enjoyed the baptism. All three Denver families made it up there. If any of you want to book a speaker for your next baptism or youth event, Ty Mortensen has a great object lesson involving a mousetrap. It was good to see Uncle John and Aunt Madalyn. They look the same as they always have (except Uncle John's hair is a little grayer. Oddly, Aunt Madalyn's hasn't changed a bit).

Classic Literature

After 5 months of drudgery, I have finally finished reading A Tale of Two Cities. Now I think I need to find a website that can tell me what I am supposed to think of the book. I know I'm probably forgetting some things because I started reading it so long ago, but it seemed to me that it only really got interesting in the last 20 pages. In honor of finishing such a classic piece of literature, I have decided to start reading another classic (see picture above). Hopefully I can finish in less than 5 months.

In other news, I have confirmed my internship for the summer and we signed a contract for an apartment in Washington DC. We move in May 1st so start saving your pennies, you're all welcome to come visit.

Denver this Summer

It has been brought to our attention (thanks Kevin) that we have talked about going to Denver this summer but never said when. He called last night and told us about their summer plans and asked what ours were. So, here is the plan (for now). Matt and Kimbre's baby is due in mid to late June. Since Kimbre's mother is undergoing chemo-therapy for breast cancer right now Kimbre is not sure how she will feel or what things will be like when the baby comes. She has asked Mom to come help if needed when the baby is born.

Because we have not been to Colorado for two years, we would like to go out this summer and visit those in Denver. Kevin said they will be in California until about the 11th of July so unless the rest of you have other commitments, we will probably come out sometime between mid July and early August. Please let us know if that will work with your schedules. We would like to visit with the three families and stay a couple of nights with each of you.

Right now our schedule is pretty flexible so let us know what you think and when would be best. If you really don't want us to visit we will find someplace else to go (just joking ).

I think spring is just around the corner. There is one little patch of snow about 8" in diameter on the deck and the snow is all gone from the front yard. Since it is spring vacation I thing we are going to drive out to Palouse Falls with Seth, Lacey and family tomorrow. This time of year there is a lot of melting and fun-off so the falls should be roaring.

Yesterday Mom and I went to the cannery in Spokane and finished off most of the basics for our years supply (now we need to get the good stuff like SPAM, Peanut Butter, Vienna Sausage, etc.). After our session, we met Spencer and Sam (Samantha Devoe) Stott who we have been teaching and preparing for the temple. Mom helped Sam buy her temple clothes. This calling is almost as rewarding as serving a mission and seeing a neat family enter the waters of baptism. Afterwards we drove over to Post Falls and visited with Matt for a while (Kimbre was at work). Matt will be envy of all the brethren in the ward when he shows up with his "manly" military issue diaper bag. All-in-all it was a good day.
