Nona Vee Payne passed away last Monday in Moses Lake. She was 85 years old. The funeral was yesterday in Warden so Mom and I drove over. It was a good funeral and we really enjoyed seeing lots and lots of Warden area people. Eugene, Janice, and Ty were there. So was Derrick and Marlo. We also saw lots of Paynes, Coxes, Roylances, Whitakers, Hills, Rodebacks, Coles, Bisels, Bates, Leavitts, etc. We went out to the cemetery (that's where the pictures were taken) and then came back for a dinner of ham and funeral potatoes. I really like the group picture above. They are (left to right) Debbie, Andrea, Kirk, Janice, Rexene, Nesha, ValRee, Christy, Pattie, and Jerry. Sister Payne has 53 grand children and 88 great grand children.
I went out to the student take this morning and helped bless Tim and Cassie Bradford's new baby girl. Cassie is Keith Anderson's (my old missionary companion) daughter. They stayed with us about a year ago when they came up to look at grad school in Moscow. Since neither set of parents could be here Mom and I were kind of surrogate parents (except Mom had to play the organ and couldn't go).
Hurray, the smoke has lifted this morning and there really is a blue sky up there. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
