Pinewood Derby

"Look Familar"

Saturaday was Ty's pinewood derby. While he didn't take first place, he had a greaat time. He enjoyed making his jeep- and yes he did most of the work including the designing, cutting and painting. Thanks to Dad and Erik for the inspiration. When he said what he wanted, I thought of the perfect inspiration model. Thanks for the lead mom, it made a great roll cage.

Well, today was the day. I was released as the bishop of the Moscow University 6th Ward and Doug Schroeder was sustained as the new one. Mom and I had known it was coming since early December but due to Doug's commitments and then ours, they couldn't do it until today. He kept my 1st counselor and called our Ward Mission Leader as the other one. Doug has been my High Council representative for several years so he knows the ward very well. We all spoke - Mom and then Me. Yes we both cried, but I think we said what we wanted to say. I have really appreciated having Mom attend the ward with me. She does everything that is needed and fills in every where. The Stake President has been very complimentary of Moms efforts. Bishop Schroeder insisted that they release Sister Schroeder and let her attend with him. Next week we get to sleep in a couple of extra hours and then go displace some family that has been sitting in "our pew" for these last 5 years. Beve called tonight to congratulate me and welcome us back into the ward.

The picture and receipt were in my Baby Book and Book of Remembrance that my mother had put together for me. I was looking in it for the first time in a number of years and found all this cool information so I spent several hours yesterday scanning it into my life history.

Yesterday Mom and I went shopping and just accidentally went upstairs at Tri-State and looked at their tent display. We saw one we liked and so we bought it along with a collapsible mini table. Now we need to have good weather to get out and use it. The tent technically sleeps five but it will be roomie enough for Mom and I and a table and two chairs. It has a large door, almost vertical walls, and a 7' center height. Us old people have to have our space.
