That's it for one day!!!The crew arrived about noon, ate lunch and went to work. I thought we would scope out the projects but I almost got run over. The next thing I knew the holes were dug, the glass door was out, and the deck was gone. It all went well but not without a few glitches. Kevin ran into hunks of concrete were the holes were being dug, the ledger board couldn't be fastened to the house without some corrective construction, we had the wrong nails, we needed more boards, etc.
All the neighbors came out to watch and give opinions (mostly constructive). About the time I was getting tired of neighbor Dan's running commentary he offered his electric impact wrench, ladder, and even his Dodge pickup to haul the necessary boards. We really appreciated his kindness.
We finally wrapped it up at about 9:30 last night. We accomplished a lot and everyone was ready for bed. Mom and Lacey provided good food and lots of it (Mom got it ready and then had to go to the Cannery in Spokane so Lacey set it out for us).
Right know everyone is roaming the house saying they are bored. We'll all a little uptight about various aspects of the projects. Hopefully next Saturday we can all sleep soundly.
Hope you are all well and happy. Those in Denver, we appreciate you letting is borrow your dads/husbands. Thanks to Kimbre for loaning Matt to us. Hope he made it home safely last night.
