Our radio club provides communication support for the local Salvation Army. Recently, they moved out of this building. This meant that our club had to remove all the antennas from the roof top. The white squares are half sheets of plywood attached to buckets full of concrete. These provide the supports for a wire that is held in the air by 10 foot PVC pipe placed in each bucket. The wire makes a loop from the elevator shaft house on the bottom of the picture. There was also another antenna not shown in the photo with its own heavy buckets. All the materials where lowered over the side of the building, down four stories, to a trailer below. 5 gallon buckets of concrete are heavy and scary to lower, not to mention that we are a bunch of Amateur Radio operators.
