Primary Program

The primary program was this Sunday. Lisa snapped this photo before church. Kanyon got a new (used) suit from another boy in the ward. The program was excellent! The kids, and parents, especially liked the last number, Come Follow Me, where the primary, organ, piano and violin all combined on the last verse.

Some pics...

Ty mowing the lawn.
Ty told me that I needed to change the way I mowed the lawn. I usually go for quick and easy. Since he was mowing it, he decided to cut it on the 45. He was excited because he was able to start the mower himself and mow the whole yard. (Anyone familar with the story of Tom Sawyer?)
I'm slowly recovering from my sunburn. Last Saturday, while Les took the younger two to the Children's Museum due to her "condition," I took the older two to Elitichs to cash in some free passes. We spent several hours at the water park riding the water slides and playing in the wave pool. My upper torso has not seen the sun in many moons and when I got home, I was a red tomato. I think I am almost done peeling now, a whole week later.
Friday night, Ty and I went camping with the scouts. He needed a campout with the 11 year old scouts for Webelos. It was quick but we had fun sitting around the campfire eating a ton of smores. We were suppose to hike 5 miles on Saturday morning, but all the boys left early. Ty flung some rocks with his sling for a while and we were home by 10:00.
Saturday, we our family cultural night. We had received a gift card to a local restaurant and decided to take the family to a sit down dinner. The kids did really well and Ty reminded us to put our napkins on our laps.
Have a great week!

Returning to Normal

We are slowly returning to normal after the week-long construction blitz and school starting again. Here's what happened this week:
  • I finished sealing the new decks (front and back). It took 2 1/2 gallons.
  • We moved the deck furniture back onto the back deck
  • I installed the new dryer vent through the wall. The first cut hit the sill plate so I had to do it again a couple of inches higher. Thank heavens for silicone.
  • The new grass in front just started poking up on Friday.

This week I need to get the slats nailed in place on each riser so I can get the whole building permit signed off (then I'll remove them). The Latah Count Fair starts this week. It's my annual shot of greasy food, elephant ears, and cotton candy. Our stake has to fill the temple this Saturday. Mom and I signed up for the 8:45 am session. Hope we can stay awake. Have a good week.
