Not a lot exciting going on here. Kelly is in Las Vegas visiting friends and I'm at home reading Clive Cussler. Don't worry he hasn't found the ship/treasure yet.
Next Thurs. I'm headed up to Moscow for a few days and it will be Kelly's turn to entertain herself with a few good books.
This staying home alone thing hasn't been all bad. So far I've been fed steak twice and been taken to the Purple Turtle once.

Do all of the schools have a field day?

Braxton had his field day too. He participated in the three-legged race, the gunnysack hop, the egg relay, 50-yard dash and the bean bag toss. Lisa went with the kids. Kanyon enjoyed that because they let the little siblings participate in some of the events. And Lisa said, yes, it was like kiddie soccer, everyone was a winner.

Brant, congrats on the calling. Let us know how it goes.

What do you alls have planned for Memorial Day tomorrow. We're going to check out the local scout camp for a fireside I'm in charge of later this summer. On the way home we may try to find a small cemetary and put some wild flowers on a soldier's grave.

Field Day!

This week was Field Day at Ty and Aimee's school. Ty's was on Monday and Aimee's was on Friday. The kids got to participate in several relays and outdoor activities. Les took the younger kids and they had fun watching all the kids.

As Dad mentioned, I got a new calling today. It was good to have Erik come over and make me a HP. Not too much exciting for the first day, as the new Bishop had family in town. I counted tithing and that was about it. Kind of weird counting on the Bishopric side. I used to do it on the Ward Clerk side. It was a good feeling when that bag was in the bank.

Tomorrow is our Ward's Memorial Day breakfast. The bishopric cooks- I need a fun apron. It is always fun to see everyone and get a chance to visit.

Who Are Those People?

I thought you might like to look at a couple of "oldies." If you don't know who they are, give me a call (Mom-1969, Dad-1968).

Congratulations to Brant. He called last night and told us that he had just been called as the 2nd counselor in their new bishopric. I think he was sustained today and Erik was able to ordain him a high priest. I wish you guys would plan these things a little better. We are both very proud parents (Mom cried when she found out - I don't know why????)

The weather has been cool and a little rainy but otherwise fantastic. Everything is green and growing - I planted flowers yesterday. Tomorrow I am going to cut out the two columnar junipers in front of the house. We're kind of starting over with parts of the yard. I need to really cut back the mugo pine by the drinking fountain.

Mom and I went down to get the windows yesterday at Home Depot. True to our luck someone had bought all the size we need the night before. We came home with two windows - one for the garage and the one we had special ordered. We'll try again next week.

We put the new cushions on the deck swing and replaced the awing over it. When I got home from church there was a squirrel hanging around the deck. If she starts to chew on the new cushions she might turn up dead.

Congratulations to Ty. He will be baptised this weekend. We wish we could be there but all the starts lined up against us (Grandma cried about this too).

Schools about out for Mom - parts of two weeks. Then almost immediately she will start school in Coeur d'Alene. She will drive up to class on Monday morning and then home again Thursday night. She will have to do this for four weeks. She will be staying with Matt and Kimbre (good luck guys).

I turned the drinking fountain on for the first time in about three years. Suddenly Weston is thirsty all the time.

Enjoy the spring and summer. I plan to send out an e-mail later in the week to bring everyone up to date on the reunion. Nothing new, just a little update.
