Mom and I just got back from another successful deer run. We saw four deer, one owl, and one large grey dead cat in the middle of the road.
Have a good week.

Not much is going on here...I'm just frantically trying to finish my thesis by the rapidly approaching deadline of June 8, when I have to turn in the final copy of my thesis to my thesis committee for it to be reviewed. Scary. I'm also looking for someone to go to England with me, so if any of you are interested...
We're going hiking up Squaw Peak tomorrow to celebrate Memorial Day. I'm sure one of us will post something about it tomorrow.
These pictures were taken by Trav's old roommate B-rad and his wife Caroline. They have a photography business and wanted to try some experimental film and stuff so they asked us if we would be their subjects.
Oh, and did I mention that Caroline happens to be very good with
photoshop?
Just a Few Things Around the House
Here it is, the second day of the Memorial Day Weekend - Oh, is it a holiday. Not many people left in Moscow. We had about 30 people in church today. Mom said there were eight sisters in Relief Society. It rained this morning and again about noon. It wouldn't be a holiday if it didn't rain.Mom and I went shopping yesterday morning. I took it as long as I could and then she brought me home and went back to finish. I worked around the yard the rest of the afternoon. We bought three bags of bark and I finished the area where the tree was removed. The lawn is up and green all over and the tree is really leafing out. Some of the lower branches have new green shoots about a foot long. Then I mowed, sprayed the crab apple and pear trees for bugs, sprayed for broad leaf weeds and then edged with Round-up. All-in-all I was pretty proud of myself. Tomorrow I need to get up on the house and replace the tabs on about five shingles that blew off this spring when we had a lot of strong winds. Hopefully in a year or two we will re-shingle and change to a darker color (probably dark grey). Now I need to get busy and paint the house. I bought some caulking yesterday and when I'm through with that I need to scrape and prime the fascia and several areas that are peeling. Boy, this sounds pretty boring.
Not much else going on. Mom has seven days of school left for the kids and nine days for her. This weekend is the Quail Run Fathers and Sons Outing. They are going to Flat Creek Cabin (in the U of I's forest between Deary and Harvard). I invited Matt to come down and go camping and he was all excited about it but then he remembered that he and Kimbre had signed up to play in a summer softball league and they have a game that day. I'll just go by myself and sit around the fire and tell lies with all the other guys. It's still fun just to get away.
That's about it. Got to have my toast and warm milk and lay down and take a nap.
Love, Dad
