Here's the focus, we're enjoying it quite nicely.

Seth and Weston had a good time at the Father's and Son's. Weston loved camping!!! He has been preparing by sleeping on his sleeping bag on his bedroom floor for the past week. One night I went in because he was screaming and I found him all the way under his bed.

Vinyl is starting to pick up. My glass blocks should arrive tomorrow and we are going to the parent's to drill holes for FHE. So, I should have my display ready at Now and Then later this week. The blocks took a lot longer to get here than I was hoping. I am also going to send a couple with Mom to school. Then, on Saturday I am having a vinyl party. We are going to make glass blocks and I am going to showcase some of my vinyl. Kind of like a tupperware party. We'll see how it goes. I was supposed to do a bunch of vinyl while the boys were gone this weekend, but they came home too early!

Ty sounds like you had a big weekend, congrats on the baptism!!! Weston says hello, he always wants to blog and email Tyler and Aimee.

Busy Weekend!

Today, Ty and Aimee received their certificates for memorizing all the Articles of Faith. Les did a great job of working with them as they learned each one. Some we sang and some the kids picked up quickly. When asked to recite his favortite one, Ty chose the 13th!

We had a fun time yesterday. Ty's baptism was nice. It was neat to have lots of family and friends there. One neat side note- I baptized him in the same pants I used to baptize on my mission and I now use in the Temple. We then came over to our house for dinner and homemade ice cream. We tried chocolate for the first time and it turned out really well. (Tonight we went to a friend's house and had homemade ice cream made with fresh rasberries. Even better!)

I'm tired!

Last Monday we took a trip out past Parker, Franktown and Elizabeth to the Boy Scout camp. I wanted to check out the facilities (the camp facilities) for a campfire that I'm in charge of in July. Lisa willingly tagged along as I led the family on a trail in the wrong direction. There's nothing wrong with hiking off trail, right? We eventually found the amphitheater and the chapel that we were looking for. Do any of these remind you of Camp Grizzly?

After that we stopped at the local cemetary in Elizabeth. I wanted to teach the kids the reason for Memorial Day. I think we learned that well as kids in Warden. Do you all remember riding in the motorhome to the cemetary, dad using his pocketknife to cut the grass away from the headstones, and sticking grandma's peonies (pee-OH-nees) in the inverted metal cup? I also remember seeing Whitaker's and lots of other Wardenites there.

Sorry we missed the fathers and sons.

Nice Weekend

Two big events happened this weekend. Ty was baptised in Denver and Grandpa, Travis, Matt, Seth and Weston went to the Fathers & Sons Outing. We wished we could have been to the baptism. When we heard that all the "other" side of the family would be there is was even harder, although we are happy that so many family were able to make it. Ty, did your dad hold you under the water very long? It is a special event to be baptised and receive the Holy Ghost. We would love to hear about it and send us a picture if you have one in your Sunday best.

Mom only has three days of teaching this week and then she's done. She has to go Thursday and Friday to do teacher stuff. Then Monday she starts school in Coeur d' Alene for 4 weeks. By the end of the summer she should be through and have lots more smarts.

We had a good time at the Fathers and Sons outing. We were the first ones there but by that night there were almost 60 people. We enjoyed visiting, eating, telling yarns, and eating some more. Saturday was a beautiful day, so after we left the camp out we drove to Harvard where we left Matt's car and then drove on up to Laird Park. We threw rocks in the river, crossed the dam and played on the swing. The picture shows Travis doing complete flips as he exits the swing. I never could get a good picture - this one shows it pretty well. Then we drove up to Cow Patty Flats. There were only two trailers in the meadow so we drove to the lower end and ate lunch. Then Matt got our his 22 and Mini 14 (based on the military M-14). He bought his as surplus from Kootenai County. We started shooting into and over the river just like the old days. Next thing we knew a couple of motorcyclists came down the meadow and edged closer and closer. We got a little nervous when one of them rode right up to the Ranger and stopped. When he flipped up his helmet it was Shane Stavros. It was their trailer we passed and when we started shooting Tracey got a little nervous thinking it was a bunch of drunks with guns. We visited a little and then came home.

Seth and Lacey got their new car this week. I'm sure they will tell you about it in their blog. Mom and I went to my ward for Sacrament Meeting and then went to Quail Run Ward with the rest of the family. It was nice to see the old ward again.

Ty, congratulations on becoming a Cub Scout. Send us a picture in your uniform when you get a chance.

The weather is still cool and rainy. Actually, I kind of like it. Maybe it will warm up someday. Tomorrow they start construction on Colfax. The ward will meet in the Colfax High School for six months.
