Home at Last

Well we made it home last night and walked in to find our house a balmy 48 degrees. Our furnace wasn't working properly when I left for New York and I thought 9 days would have been enough to get it fixed but I guess not. Needless to say our landlord got a call this morning and we are currently at 56 degrees and rising.
We spent last night watching National Treasure with cousin Buddy while Kelly huddled in front of our fireplace (don't worry there was a fire there, she wasn't just staring at the bricks). We turned off the movie for about one minute to watch Dick Clark count down the new year so Kelly could jump off of the couch into the new year and then we returned to the adventures of Benjamin Franklin Gates and associates.
This morning we awakened to find that Kelly's luggage had been delivered at 4:50 this morning so now we're unpacked, cleaned up and currently listening to my new cd of the Police (Lisa, you know my favorite song is Roxanne ;)

Mom- Kelly loves her new cook book and twirls incessantly when she puts on her new coat.

End of Year Tallies

Travis: 10,669 pages in 37 books
Kelly: 11, 951 pages with 35 books (not including textbooks and scholarly journals)

Even with a late December rally by Trav, he still couldn't catch me! I win!!

A few of our favorite book(s) of the year:

Travis: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini; Harry Potter #7; The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper

Kelly: Same as Trav's first 2; The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas; A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

And thanks to a generous Christmas, we now have more books to get started on!

Happy New Year!
