General Conference: Kevin's Version

We had a great experience. If I had room I would start from the start, but I don't have room. Let's just say that my faith has been reinforced. It included such experiences as: making the decision to attend even w/o any tickets, then gettting a call the day before with more tickets than we had expected, have the clouds parted for our travels, being able to attend multiple sessions, one young man deciding to go on a mission, a sitting area at a rest stop, and safety and protection through all our travels.

I got to see Brant for just a few minutes in line. I took the picture below of the temple and the tabernacle. If you look down from the middle spire of the temple you will see a lady walking toward the tabernacle in a cream dress suit with a pink shirt. Only after I looked closely at the picture tonight did I realize that it was Sister Tanner, the YW General President. The other picture is of my deacons and me in front of the Christus.

It 's Sunday afternoon and all is quiet in the neighborhood - except the neighbor on the south has been running his chain saw all afternoon cutting up the pieces of maple tree we gave him last December when we cut our tree down. He started about a month ago and now he is going again today. He has a pile of shavings about 3' high.

On the north side Shane is digging out a path from under his deck around to his driveway. I think he has been really frustrated this spring because our lawn has greened up very nicely and his lawn is thinning and dying.

While everyone is outside enjoying the good weather Mom and I are inside listening to conference and reading. I didn't say reading the scriptures - I am reading The Da Vinci Code. Very interesting so far.

I hope all the conference travelers are on their way home or have arrived safely. Did you have a good time? Erik called this morning to say they got home safely yesterday from Disneyland. They had a bout with southern California traffic and missed their flight but they got home anyway.

I finally ordered the last piece of furniture we had been looking for. It was a corner TV stand. We kept looking for a "nice" quality one to match our other furniture but all we could find that we liked was a piece from Sauder that you put together yourself. I hope it doesn't look to cheap. It should be here on Thursday.

That's about it from here. The picture was take up behind "Y" Mountain. I think this was the time a slid off the road almost up against a tree and had to have some guys that came along push the Ranchero away from the tree as I drove it out of the ditch. Don't you love the hair?
